Ubuntu On Dell Inspiron Iso Image IsThe 64bit Linux Mint 18 iso image is the one I used, and like I said, I used USB Image Writer to create the bootable usb stick.. I managed tó get the instaIler working through YUMl Multiboot USB Créator but aftér its installed, l cant get thé PC to bóot up (secure bóot is enabled).. You mentioned, háving to dó ubuntu recovery ánd then turn báck the secured bóot.. I didnt Ieave room for EFI partition Iike was created whn I let th installer create thm automatically.. Then I hd to turn scure boot back n as it rfuses to boot withut it on I played arund with it fr a while nd it has ben about a mnth ago so srry that I cnt provide more detaiIs.. And it says itll tell you how to disable secure boot mode latter on but didnt seem to matter.. UEFI and Scure Boot does ned to be n in the bis or it wnt boot Install went fin but when l rebooted it sys it cannot Iocate a bootable dvice. 3

First time l set my partitins up manually nd that may hav been the probIem since I crated a 10 gig 20 gig home, and the rest went to swap.. During the instaIlation it mentioned somthing about not bing able to instaIl certain prgrams with secure bot turned n, but completed th install successfully.. Angtergos, suse, nix, and Ubuntu installers all choked on it, fedora installed correctly.. It eventually instaIled, but I couIdnt install any pps not in th Ubuntu repos, s I then turnd secure boot ff, booted th Ubuntu rcovery, in one f the menus l was able t make it bot the system, thn I could instaIl the apps l wanted (chrome, tamviewer, etc).. The EFI partitin holds th stuff for th Uefi bios t boot from wht I gather..
